Fancy hiking?

If you want to go hiking in a mountain trip, this entry will help you out. This summer I've been to Parang, the most beautiful mountains in Romania. I say this because they are not so touristic as compared to Valea Prahovei which is too crowded for my taste. Parang is a virgin teritory where, the words nature, calm and quiet have true meanings.

I've been in this trip with some friends and we rented rooms in a pitoresque villa next to the forest on a mountain top. It was the best feeling to be in the middle of nature, surrounded by peace, quiet and lack of pollution. No people hurrying up in the morning, no cars, no phone calls, no notebooks, no modern world worries. Like me friend would say related to barbeque: Just you, the fire and meat :-D

During day we used to hike in the forest, climb to the mountain top on massive rocks, search for lakes and small rivers in the woods, find places to rest and eat and then start all over again. On the way back, everybody was looking forward to reaching the villa as evening was setting upon us. These were the moments when we could finally eat, rest our tired bodies, talk about the beautiful places we saw and play cards.

And to show I'm not exaggerating with these descriptions, here are the proofs:

Going to beach?

As you might have noticed, I haven't been blogging for quite some time. I was reading Laurentiu and Alina's blogs so this reminded me of the good old times...

I thought about where to start after so many things happened and I decided to share some photos that will speak for themselves.

First series will be from my summer vacation in Antalya, Turkey. I recommend this location to anyone looking for incredible landscapes bringing together sea and mountains along nice resorts, new hotels, very good service at afforable prices.

Antalya has a perfect combination of new constructions and old ruins in deserted islands. You can go boat boat cruising, rafting, scuba diving, visit Pamukkale

We enjoyed our stay at Porto Bello, the food and service were very good. If you go there don't expect good drinks though, this is not their strong point :-)

Antalya is a very nice travel destination for families and people who seek relaxation and sea activities. As we discovered, for people who want clubbing, this location is not a good option.

Meme: 8 Random Things

Ladies and gents, sorry for the long period of being away from my blog. I've been tagged by Alina to write 8 facts about me. All the persons who have been tagged for the same post have to follow these rules:
* We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
* Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and that they should read your blog.

Here are my 8 random things:

1. I love to walk in the park, forest, mountain trail and anything that belongs to nature. I can do this by myself, with my loved one or my friends, doesn't matter, it's still great!

2. I like going out to bars, clubs where I can have fun with my friends, enjoy the atmosphere with strangers and listen to the music I like.

3. I like working out in aerobic class, spinning, swimming, basically anything that involves sports and a rush of endorphins.

4. I enjoy taking pictures of anything that appeals to my senses, in some way. It doesn't matter if it's something considered ugly or beautiful by the majority.

5. I am a sucker for buying casual silly jewelery. I can't help it sometimes, even though I am not a fan of shopping in general.

6. I adore to see kids smiling and playing, without any worries while showing their innocence so different from our everyday routine and problems.

7. I enjoy a great deal watching a movie that is considered weird by most people, but to which I find interesting and educational symbols.

8. I love swimming during night in a clear sea under a full moon, watching the stars and screaming: This is life!

Now that I have presented to you my 8 random facts, I am very curious what are your habits. The people below have to blog about this topic. Sorry :)

The amazing Singapore

Recently I've had the chance to take a course in the wonderful city of Singapore.
My pictures will speak by themselves therefore, in this virtual journey through Singapore, my comments will be short.
The people living there are extremely polite, helpful and always seeming to be cheerful. Their immense variety of food would satisfy anyone from no matter what country.
The business center contains of skyscrapers, vast shopping malls and widespread network of trains. Therefore you wouldn't believe that 40 years ago in the same place there was only the ocean. With the land acquired from another country, in 40 years, they have managed to build a modern downtown with hight tech means of transportation.
In Bucharest, Romanian's capital, we have "managed" to build 3 subway stations as extensions of the old network in guess how many years: 20 years Ta-ta-ta!! Great "efficiency"!
I respect a great deal the people of Singapore and if I will get the chance to visit them again, I will definitely return with a large smile on my face, as I know they will welcome me with the same attitude.

Here are a few samples of Singapore sights:

Skyline of Singapore at night

Bars across the river

Esplanade
- one of the impressive landmarks in Singapore

View of Sentosa island

Equatorial forest on Sentosa island

Frog symbol in Sentosa forest

Siloso beach on Sentosa island

Sunset on Siloso beach

Laser, fire, water and projections at 'Sounds of the ocean'

Fireworks at 'Sounds of the Ocean'

Last post?

This post is written for Urban Monk who has created a meme and for each entry he will save $1. When he reaches $500 he will donate the amount to charity. I have found out about his idea from Ali.
His idea is summed up as below:

"Bloggers: The blogosphere is coming to an end.
You have one last post. What is it going to be?
What is the final summary of your blog?
What is the one last gem that you want to leave with your readers?"

If this day should come, I would say that this experience has been great for me as I have discovered interesting articles, people and my all time favorite PHOTOS (you have seen the post about the hot guys :)). Blogs give people the chance to write a virtual journal with nice pics and links to other blogs and of course receive comments from other bloggers. I have read some interesting online journals but I have never wanted to write my thoughts, experiences in my blog. This is because I wouldn't like to make public my most intimate thoughts, I am not brave enough to do that :). Anyway I admire people who can, they are courageous.
I especially like Raluca's blog because she is not afraid to tell about the stuff that troubles her, good and bad thoughts and so on.
I would feel sorry if I could not be able to read and write anymore on blogosphere. However I am sure something else would be invented in this case because people need to communicate more and more.
In my blog I have spoken of many fun events, also about my own thoughts regarding career women, hot guys and a family problem. I think in general my posts had diverse subjects and hopefully people who have read them did not get too bored.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to read my blog and to comment on my posts.

P.S. Raluca, you have been tagged and you need to write a post with this theme and link Urban Monk.

In his own words: "I'm ambitious, goal-oriented, and down-to-earth."
Brainiac babe: "After working on Wall Street for two years, I decided to go to medical school. Once I enrolled, I got into business school as well. It's a lot of work, but I'm committed to getting both degrees."

Female features he's hot for: "I'm attracted to all types of women, but I've always had a thing for blond-haired, blue-eyed girls."
Girlfriend must-have: "I want a woman who will get my jokes. I have a strange, sarcastic sense of humor."
Put down the pickup lines: "I'd love it if a girl introduced herself and said, 'Hey, how are you?' It's so much more appealing than using cheesy lines."
Girlie getup he digs: "A white tank top and jeans."
Listen up, ladies: "Guys are straightforward, so if we say something, we probably mean it. There's no reason to overanalyze everything that comes out of our mouths."

High Hopes

A tribute to Pink Floyd
High Hopes

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun
Along the long road and on down the causeway
Do they still meet there by the cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

****

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
go down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river

Forever and ever
"Hey, is that Charlie? yes... Hello Charlie... great"

Women- powerful or not?

Today I read many silly articles for women, you know the kind: advice for your relationship, how to meet the perfect man, how to have passionate sex and so on. I know some impressive career women who despite their position, financial status, power, when they meet a man they like, they lose their mind and emotions go wild. From this moment on they become like any other women, maybe even more emotional and needy. They start having some serious security issues. They need their men to hold them, rub them and tell them how special they are for providing them moral, mental and emotional support.

There's a real irony here when you think of all the women who go out of their way to show how independent they are. These are usually the same women who become extremely insecure once they finally fall in love.

I am sure this article will not be liked by women and maybe some will call me bad names. But we need to face the facts. I admit to be somewhat similar to the women I previously talked about. But I try to find a balance in everything I do, this means to have a personal life, career, relationship, friends and so on. And if I would give any of the mentioned areas too much priority then the balance will be ruined which is not good. Of course nobody can find a mathematical equation to keep the perfect balance. Sometimes one or more areas of our lives will be neglected for other(s) but the important thing is to try and even plan a balance.

I think no matter what prince Charming we have found along the way, we should not change our lifestyle, our preferences and in the end not change ourselves. We need to realize that we are not so independent as we would like and as we state. Of course we achieved financial, social and professional independence but we don't have to neglect our emotional dependence which will always make romantic, silly and childish creatures from us, with bursts of tears and tantrums when we least expect it.

Therefore let's spread our wings, face our femininity, admit we are not completely independent, smile and cry, be happy and sad! Be true to ourselves!
